Failed Actor Arrested for Trashing ‘Letterman’ Theater

A drunken, 22-year-old aspiring actor broke in to the famed Ed Sullivan Theater where David Letterman‘s “Late Show” tapes and caused $2,000 worth of damage.

Jimmy Whittemore (above) was busted early Sunday morning after kicking in the theater’s glass doors, trashing the box office and lobby, turning over garbage cans and knocking over velvet rope stands.

The Letterman stage is padlocked so Whittemore couldn’t get inside.

Whittemore was hospitalized briefly after his arrest for a cut on his head and was later charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

Cops says Whittemore has no direct connection to Letterman or the studio and blamed it all on alcohol.
