Hillary Clinton to Meet with GMA this Month

United States Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton will be in Manila this week where she will meet President Arroyo at Malacañang . 

During the meeting Clinton will discuss election issues with President Arroyo including the turnover of power in 2010  in their meeting at Malacañang on Nov. 12 and 13.  Hillary is know for her love of pancit, so I am sure that will be on the menu at the palace during her visit.

During her two-day visit to Manila, Hillary Clinton will also “hold consultations with senior Filipino officials, highlighting the US-Philippines treaty alliance,” Clinton’s spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters.

Would love to stop by to say “hey” while she is here, I really did hope she would be the next US President.

The Beloved Corazon Aquino has Passed Away – RIP

Former President Corazon Aquino, who swept away a dictator with a ”people power” revolt and sustained democracy by fighting off seven coup attempts in six years, died on Saturday, her son said. She was 76.

She was diagnosed with advanced colon cancer last year and confined to a Manila hospital for more than a month. Her son said the cancer had spread to other organs and she was too weak to continue chemotherapy.

May this wonderful woman rest in peace. Our prayers are with her and her family.

Kobe Bryant is coming Manila on July 21

National Basketball Association (NBA) superstar Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers is starting on another Asian tour next week and the Philippines is his first stop.

In his one-day visit to Manila on July 21, Bryant is expected to interact with young basketball players who dream of making it big just like the 2009 NBA Finals most valuable player.

“Nike Philippines is proud to welcome Kobe Bryant back to Manila, and we are excited to be the first stop of his Asia tour,” said Nike Philippines country marketing manager Mae Dichupa.

Bryant will be meeting with young basketball players from some Gawad Kalinga communities at the Nike Park, The Fort in Taguig City at 2 p.m.

Akon Concert Rescheduled to October 23, 2009 in Manila

In a letter from Akon’s managment team dated June 28, 2009 says,

On behalf of our co-producers and presenters, we at ALV Events International are informing the public that due to unforeseen events, Akon’s July 4 concert at the Araneta Coliseum has been rescheduled to October 23, 2009 at the same venue.

If you already bought your tickets, they will still be honored for the new concert date so keep a hold of them!

Bombs in Quezon City, Metro Manila!

WTF??? Terrorist will never learn that terror brings hate from the majority of people.  There was a bombing recently at the Office of the Ombudsman in Quezon City yesterday, and today a bomb was found at outside the Department of Agriculture building in Q.C., sheesh, why the hell the Department of Agriculture?!? Maybe the terrorist aren’t too smart and they thought DA stands for District Attorney or something else.  Some people are relating this to President Gloria Arroyo trying to hold on to her presidential seat just a bit longer, not likely though, I think the President is ready to get rid of the headache that she is in now and move on.  I hope when Bayani Fernando is elected next year he can get a grip on these terrorist activities!
